Learning is what allows us to do what we love. Sometimes it may come more naturally to some, but for the rest of us it takes a little longer. No matter the subject it’s so important to really learn all you can in order to improve your craft. I am still in the “learning” stages, and will be in that stage in all subjects for the rest of my life. In my photography I read, watch, write etc. about it as much as I can. It’s so helpful for me to learn from other photographers whether it be through their blogs, workshops, books etc. It’s good to know what others have experienced in order to get an idea of what is up ahead. With all that being said…I find that everyone’s journey is & will be unique. My sister-in-law told me she knows first hand from experience in her business, that although their may be many in the same industry, no two paths are alike. She was the one that told me to breathe because I wanted to get all the info I could in order to do it “the right way”. Just because one photographer “made it” one way does not mean another photographer is going to “make it” even if they did the same exact thing. You have to do what feels right for you. Your journey is yours. Be unique by being yourself. To be successful you also have to be prepared to fail. It’s the not giving up when we fail that determines your success. So no matter what your aspirations are just keep learning. This is still the beginning for me, and sometimes I want to run forward but I have to remember to breath, put one foot in front of the other, walk and just be me.
