Practice, practice, practice! We have all heard it, and it’s so true! Practice makes…well I can’t say perfect, but better! I am so lucky to have four willing (at least I like to think they are willing) kids to help by allowing me to practice on them. The only way to know what to look for in a shoot is to make a mock shoot. For me It’s so important, that way I don’t have to stop & try to figure “it” out. There will always be issues that come up, but after taking practice shots, I feel more prepared to handle the problem or to even know what the problem is.
Although I would love to get the “perfect” shot every single time I press the shutter, the truth is that sometimes I have to take care of the problem in editing. I sometimes get frustrated when I don’t get the color or sharpness straight out of camera, but I remind myself that I have editing options, and it’s ok… I can take a few more shots. Don’t get so frustrated that you want to give up something you love to do. Just grab one of your kids, spouse, friend, etc, and get practicing!
