Getting my name out can be challenging. Here I sit with a great newborn studio and only a handful of newborns to photograph. I do get to photograph them but not as often as I would like. I do start to second guess myself but then I have to shake it off, and keep on hitting the pavement. I have the vision & I am confident in my work, but It’s such a slow process that it can become frustrating. I know Rome wasn’t built overnight, but I guess my desire & drive keeps me wanting to do more now. This is the price I have to pay in order to specialize in a certain area. I told myself that I would have to turn work down in order to build my name and brand as a newborn & children’s photographer. It is tempting to photograph that family of ten or that boudoir session, but I have a goal, and I want to focus on building it. I want to be known as the photographer who specializes in this one area. For me it creates trust & confidence with my clients, and they know that photographing their babies and children is my focus. As I continue to get the word out there about my work, I will also continue to work on my craft and hopefully soon I will be blogging about needing a break!

Baby Boy
Are you having a baby boy? Prepare yourself for the ride of your life! I have two boys, and my life has never been the same. Boys are loud, hectic, messy and AMAZING! They are also sweet, loving, affectionate & can pull your heart-strings with one look. I love photographing boys because their personality always comes through, and they never hide it. How sweet is this baby boy! I could have photographed him all day long!

Newborn Studio
It’s official! The Rosa Blanca Newborn Studio is now up & running! It’s been a year of learning, crying, happiness and so many more emotions. I knew that I would want to really focus on a few specific areas in my photography, and newborns was on top of the list! It feels so good to know that my hard work is paying off & hopefully soon I will have babies in & out of this beautiful space. Before I would photograph in their homes or they would come to my studio, but it wasn’t set up specifically for babies. NOW IT IS!!! YAY
I am still in the learning process (learning is a lifetime event) but everyday I become a little more confident & with that comes a great satisfaction. I have my moments of course where I become insecure or second guess myself, but the key is to never give up & to just take a second, catch your breath & then begin again. I may not be “the best” but I am trying my best to become better. I am just so thankful to those in my life that have been & still are so supportive & positive. At the end of the day I just want to create beautiful images that will become precious memories to my clients and myself!
A Second Chance
Turning over a new leaf, starting over, a do-over, a new beginning…whatever the term is for you it’s all about newness. For me it’s about doing things a little better, trying a little harder & pushing it more to the limit. It’s also about becoming more of myself as an individual, mother, wife, friends etc. I think as I get older I really pick and choose my battles. It seems like when I was younger every battle was worth the fight, but now I only have a select few topics I will fight to the death over (like alone time in the bathroom)! But really, getting a new do-over should really count & for me it’s about being grateful that I have a second chance. It’s about not sweating the small stuff or being worried about how others are doing things better (like parenting or work). This year my do-over is all about health and wellness. I have one body and with it comes a limited amount of second chances, so hopefully you will join me in taking advantage of this second chance! Happy New Year!
