Ugly baby cry is the only way to describe how I looked when my little girl turned 13 yesterday! Lets admit that you thought I was actually talking about a clients baby! hehe
WHY are our kids growing up sooo quickly? Doesn’t it seem like the time is passing us by in an instant? I have 4 kids (yep you read that right) and I no longer have a baby or toddler in the house. I think that those are the ages where we take the most pictures of our children. Those are the cutest, easiest images to take because they love to say “CHEESE”. My tween daughter graciously (ok not so gracious, I had an iPhone to compete with) allowed me to take her pics for her birthday, and it dawned on me that this stage (turning 13) is just as special and important.
Never again will she be turning a teenager! Never again will she look like a mix of a little girl and a beautiful young lady! I know that tweens don’t really want to sit and take that perfect picture for you (it’s not cool mom & dad) but my advice is to do it anyway. We all have the million pictures from when they were born, and when they were in kindergarten, and all the first milestones, but now are the moments we need to cherish. One day we will turn around, and they will be flying away from our nest.
Are you ugly baby crying yet?
Ok, now that we are all looking through their memory box and sobbing at their first outfit, lets put some more memories in that box! That is why I have decided to add a Tween Session to my list of sessions. I want to have a Session where moms & dads like me (a parent with tweens) can get beautiful images without having to beg that tween to look at the camera. This will be a shorter session (because you know tweens) and we can both look at their images & Ugly Baby Cry!
